In 2024, Maryland took a major step toward reducing poverty with the passage of the Engaging Neighborhoods, Organizations, Unions, Governments, and Households (ENOUGH) Act under the Moore-Miller Administration. This legislation is designed to confront systemic inequities by collaborating with communities to create solutions that reflect local needs and priorities.
The ENOUGH Initiative, led by the Governor’s Office for Children (GOC), now provides support to 27 community-based organizations across 12 counties. These efforts span rural, suburban, and urban areas that have historically experienced limited economic opportunity.
As a proud ENOUGH Initiative partner, UCAP is committed to advancing this work by supporting the District Heights and Suitland communities.
We invite you to share your voice and help shape the future of our community. UCAP is gathering input through a short community survey and upcoming focus groups to better understand the needs, challenges, and priorities of local residents.
You can participate by:
Completing our quick and confidential community survey
Signing up for a focus group to share your experiences and ideas
Sharing the survey with friends, family, and neighbors
Your input will help us better understand what matters most and guide programs and resources that truly support the community.
Available Focus Group Dates:
April 7, 2026, 12pm-1pm
April 9, 2026, 6pm-7pm
Together, we can build a stronger, more responsive community.
